Ice packs, frozen peas, or ice cubes wrapped in a cloth or place in Ziploc bags are necessary items after tooth removal as it’s common to experience mild bruising and swelling. Use your ice compresses for 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off for the first 24 hours. Alternate with warm compresses after the first 24 hours to increase blood circulation and help with the healing process.
Aftercare medication may be prescribed depending on your situation. Be sure to follow instructions and do not to mix your medication with over the counter options or alcohol. We will discuss in depth after tooth removal care and provide you with complete aftercare instructions based on your tooth extraction.
